    Description

The Custer Channel Wing Corporation (CCWC) was the manufacturer of experimental aircraft designs. Planes featured a half-barrel-shaped section to each wing in which the engine was outfitted in a pusher mode. Founder Willard Custer patented the design and claimed that it facilitated air movement and flight. Willard Custer tested a variety of designs in the 1940s and 1950s before forming CCWC to develop the plane for commercial sale. The first commercial model flew in 1953, but CCWC never sold an airplane. For auction is a common stock certificate from CCWC dated December 2, 1970 for 50 shares. The vignette shows a plane with Custer wings.
