at the Hallenstadion in Zürich [Switzerland] on Sunday, 4th February, 1973, presented by Good News. Jethro Tull were touring in support of
Living in the Past
— a quasi-compilation double album, containing album tracks, out-takes, and a number of their non-LP singles. Produced by Terry Ellis and Ian Anderson, the album was released in the UK on 23rd June, 1972 on the Chrysalis label. The tour commenced at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna on 29th January and ended at the Philipshalle in Düsseldorf on 26th March, 1973, a concert which had been rescheduled from the original date on 9th March. Immediately after the tour the band went into Morgan Studios in London to record
A Passion Play
with producer Terry Ellis. The ‘surprise supporting act’, as advertised on the poster, was guitarist Robin Trower, who was about to release his first studio album,
Twice Removed from Yeserday
, after leaving Procol Harum.
Printed by Walter Sprüngli, Villmergen, the poster measures 35.8 x 63.0 cm (approx. 14" by 24.8" inches) and is printed in black ink on thin, matte-coated paper stock (coated on front open). Neatly folded, else in near excellent condition. P
