    RARE VINTAGE C. 1945-52 MIOJ 16”H “MARUNI” VASE CINNABAR/OXBLOOD GLAZE POTTERY/INLAID ENAMEL FLORALS.
    Extraordinary, rich glaze resembles the color of lacquerware and, in all our years of collecting MIOJ, is the only MIOJ pottery we’ve seen with this deep, solid color and texture.
    The inlaid enamel flowers and leaves are also on an exceptional level of quality and artistry.
    Floral inlay on all four sides which are rounded below flaring square neck:
    enamels in layered gold, green, rose, cerulean blue, etc.
    AN EXCEPTIONAL EXAMPLE OF THE ART OF POTTERY GLAZING AND ENAMEL INLAY.
    Two of us displayed this with tremendous pleasure for over 30 years.
    Vase without stopper is 12”H, with unusual stopper (that’s square to slide deep into square mouth) 16”H.
    Stopper has a wonderful figural galleon-form material finial.
